I think this goes nicely with my paper moon passion.

As a graphic designer, I have been out on my own since the print shop that employed me closed down in 2009. I was able to service many clients in the past 3 years as Sunshine Graphics, but I have some wholesale printing limitations that have made some projects quite difficult to be competitive in this recession. I still have quite a few clients that are very loyal, no one in the Dover area has the same business model and I am proud of the service I provide.
I wanted to return to fine art with a business approach for many years as Jancolors Artworks, this seems like a great time to do it. As far as the fine art is concerned, I paint with Plein Air Painters of the Mid-Atlantic and we are planning a show of our works later this spring. I am a board member of Dover Art League. I had a successful solo show last August at DAL, here’s a feature that WHYY did about this… [Go to the full show, click on chapter 7 on “Steeples..”, that’s about me!] I am hoping to open a gallery with N. Taylor Collins and Susan Johnston this year in Downtown Dover. Taylor & I are planning an art show of our own in 2014.
I have already suffered a major blow to this plan in 2013, my husband passed away suddenly on January 14th. Now, I MUST make my own living alone and I need to make money, for real, without the stability of love & support from my spouse.
I have many supportive friends and clients. I am already quite busy with new print orders. I have lined up 3 new web clients that are ready for me to begin as soon as possible.
I don’t anticipate that the two parts of my work-life, Sunshine Graphics & Jancolors Artworks are mutually exclusive - my design background plus my own study of social media + marketing, well, I believe this can all come together very soon in a nice package!
I am pretty optimistic despite the loss I’ve recently encountered.

Hi, Jacklyn!
I am on the board of the Dover Art League and their members’ gallery will help you with that. There’s also the Mispillion Art League in Milford, I belong to that, too. I paint Delaware things and I’ve gotten my stuff in at Delaware Made on Loockerman. I also have a great time painting outside (most of the year) with the Plein Air Painters of the Mid-Atlantic on Facebook. I’d recommend those sorts of groups! Nice to meet you!
